Wells Gibson

Wells Gibson, a Myrtle Beach local who brings years of surfing experience and a deep love for the ocean. A self-proclaimed "soul surfer," Wells has surfed up and down the entire East Coast and West Coast, honing his craft across Costa Rica, California, and Mexico. Competing in the ESA’s “Old Guys” divisions and the Eco Pro Surf Series, Wells has found a way to balance his love for surfing with coaching and supporting his son, Smith. Wells thrives on the connection between father and son, and nothing brings him more joy than being out in the water with Smith, guiding him through competitions and surf sessions.

Smith Gibson

Smith Gibson is a young surf prodigy with an impressive track record at just 11 years old. A local ESA champion and proud Team rider for Surf Dreams Foundation, Smith has already made waves at the U12 East Coast Championships and as a competitor in the Eco Pro Surf Series and the O'Neill East Coast Grom Tour. He has surfed some of the world’s most iconic spots, including Kauai, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, California, Florida, Virginia Beach, and North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Smith continues to push his limits and fine-tune his skills. His passion for the sport and fearless approach to competition make him a rising star in the surf community.

Whitney Gibson

Though technically not a Carolina Beach Boy, Whitney Gibson is the heart and soul of the team. As the ultimate "grom mom," Whitney is the backbone that keeps the surf adventures flowing smoothly. From sunbathing on the beach to cheering on Wells and Smith during competitions, Whitney is always there—making sure they’re prepared with coffee, breakfast sandwiches, sunscreen, and anything else they need for a successful day of surfing. Her behind-the-scenes dedication ensures that the Carolina Beach Boys are always ready for the next wave, with a kiss for good luck before every surf session.
